Southeast Colorado Small Business Development Center

The Otero SCORE Center is a Colorado community based SBDC service-center providing free one-on-one counseling services in the areas of business research and marketing, new business feasibility analysis, business plan preparation, finance packaging and other small business topics.

Purpose: The Purpose of the CSBDC Network is to offer business consulting and training that maximizes the economic potential of Colorado entrepreneurs.

Mission: To help existing and new businesses grow and prosper.

Vision: To be the premier, trusted choice of Colorado businesses for consulting, training, and resources.

Local SBDCs offer workshops and seminars for business owners and act as information clearing houses.

  • The SBDC assists clients in starting or improving a business and solving management issues.
  • The SBDC educates clients in all facets of the business planning process.
  • The SBDC empowers clients to master future planning and problem solving.
  • The SBDC helps clients understand lender requirements to qualify for small business loans.

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a nationally accredited program funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration and Otero Junior College. We're proud to live and work in Southeastern Colorado, and we welcome the chance to share information with you about our area. Southeastern Colorado and the Arkansas Valley offers great diversity in geography, community size and lifestyle, but at La Junta Economic Development we are united in our efforts to promote a progressive and vibrant business climate.

La Junta Economic Development reflects an important—and growing—national trend of regional economic organizations. Our mission is to generate economic development leads that are a good fit for La Junta and the Arkansas Valley communities. We strive to promote a unique pro-business image for the area.

The Arkansas Valley is the best kept secret in Colorado. La Junta is the hub of activity in the area. La Junta is home to the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, Otero Junior College and the world famous Koshare Indian Boy Scout Troop. La Junta is a progressive, friendly community located on US Highway 50 and serviced by the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe RR in Colorful Southeast Colorado.

Local SBDCs offer workshops and seminars for business owners and act as information clearing houses. Individual local offices specialize in international trade, government procurement, manufacturing, home-based business and technology resources. The SBDC receives input from the SBDC State Advisory Board.

“We are excited to be able to offer this one-of-a-kind facility to the residents of southeastern Colorado,” said Rachel Patrick, director of the local Small Business Development Center (SBDC), which has its office inside the SCORE Center.
